Dear Parent/Carer,
If you did not already know there are now only eight weeks to Xmas and over the next few weeks we will be starting our preparations for the big event. Over the past weeks and for the next months we will be looking at Festivals as there are so many of them. We started with Halloween moving on to Divali, Bonfire Night, Thanksgiving, Hanukah and of course Christmas itself. This is a wonderful time of year for the children as we enjoy decorating and preparing for the festive season.
Dates for your Diary
Friday 18th November - Children In Need
All the children will be participating in throwing bean bags into a bin. This will take place all week finishing on Friday with children who attend that day. Please can all sponsorship forms be returned by Monday 14th November at the latest. Also I would very much appreciate it if you could return all monies collected as soon as possible as I would like to forward this on by the end of November.
Christmas Play- Tuesday 6th, Wednesday 7th and Friday 9th December
Performances will take place Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning from 11.30 a.m. In order to give all the children at least one opportunity to participate, I may need to swap afternoon sessions to a morning or change days. For those of you this affects I will speak to you personally. Can you please wait together outside and I will let everyone in at once as this will reduce the children’s anticipation. As we have many young children and some who have not been in a performance before, please be aware that some may start crying or not wish to perform and allow the staff the first opportunity to settle them. You may take photos and videos as long as these are for your own personal use.
Christmas Party - Friday 16th December at Ramsey Forty Foot Village Hall
This will commence at 12.00 noon and finish at 2.00 p.m. Please bring children directly to the hall unless they normally attend Friday morning because of your work commitments in which case we will drive them to Forty Foot. As per usual I am requesting parents to supply a plate of food and lists will be available at the beginning of December. Last Xmas we had so much food we were unable to eat it all so please do not supply more than is suggested. We have decided this year that if parents wish to stay with their children, then we are happy for them to do so, however, we cannot accept siblings as it may cause upset when presents are handed out.
Christmas Holidays
We close after the party on Friday 16th December and re-open on Tuesday 3rd January but the grant does not start until Monday 9th January. If your child celebrated their third birthday during this term, they will be entitled to the grant from January. The grant is for 15 hours a week and can be spread over the week as you wish. If you would like to increase sessions during the grant period please speak to me as soon as possible. Also for parents whose children become three during the Spring Term, they will be entitled to the grant during the Summer Term so if you are also considering increasing sessions then, would you also speak to a member of staff now, so that they can be booked in. Spaces are filling so if you will be requiring extra sessions it will be as well to book them.
