The grant funded Spring Term commences on Monday 9th January and ends on Friday 30th March
although the school will be open until Thursday 5th April. We will then be closed for a week and
re-open on Monday 16th April. Half term will be Monday 13th until Friday 17th February.
A few pleas
1. Please can you send appropriate named winter clothing as we do try and get the children outside for some fresh air whenever possible. Also a suitable change of clothes and footwear which can be left in their bags at the school
2. As this is time of year for illness, can I remind you that children need to be clear of any
infectious illness for 24 hours before returning to Head Start.
3. Can you please remember to check your child’s hair for head lice as we are aware that it is about.
4. Could I please remind you that our are opening hours are 8.45 a.m. to 12 noon and 12.30 p.m. to 3.45 p.m. Whilst we try to be flexible with our times, you do need to inform us if you require alternative hours. Although we are open from 8.30 we cannot accept children until 2 members of staff are present and on the odd occasion, a staff member may be late due to unforeseen circumstances. Children should be brought into the classroom by the parent so that they can be registered as present. Staff are also entitled to a twenty minute lunch break which is not easy if children are collected later than 12 noon. I would appreciate your assistance in this matter.
5. I have a brand new sweat shirt that was ordered by a parent who has moved away. It is size 4-5 so if anyone would be interested in buying them, please speak to me.
The staff and I are always available to discuss your child’s progress. We can either arrange an
appointment after school or you can email me on adela.costello@btinternet.com.
Finally, I know this is early in the year but on behalf of the staff and myself, can I be the first to wish you a very merry festive season. Christmas is a wonderful time of year for the children and parents and I know how much pleasure the staff have in participating in the excitement that builds up as the day approaches. We all hope that Christmas brings you great joy and much pleasure.
