Faulty/damaged equipment

All equipment and toys at Head Start Nursery School are inspected regularly.

All electrical equipment undergoes an annual PAT test to ensure it’s safety. Any item of equipment that fails the PAT test is not be used and immediately repaired or replaced.

All fire extinguishers are inspected annually and replaced if deemed faulty.

All toys should comply with British Standards. No toy or game should be present at the school that does meet these standards. Any toy that is found to be broken or damaged will either be immediately repaired (if a repair is possible) or replaced. Any toy that is deemed dangerous
will be instantly removed from the school.

All other equipment used at the school must also comply with British Standards. There should be no equipment on the premises that does not meet the Standards. If any item of equipment is deemed faulty, it must be either immediately repaired by a reputable craftsperson or replaced.

The Head Teacher takes full responsibility for all equipment, toys and games at Head Start Nursery School.
