 Dates for your Diary

Thursday 28th April - as this is the day before the Royal Wedding, we thought it would be nice to have some sort of school party. To that end if your child attends on a Thursday, could you send him/her with a plate of food and the children will all sit together either outside or indoors and enjoy a celebratory lunch. If your child does not stay for lunch, he/she is welcome to attend that day. A list will be put out on Tuesday 26th.

Thursday 12th May - the photographer will be coming to Head Start to take a school photograph of all the children and staff. She will be taking the photo at 12.15 so morning children will be able to take part and if afternoon children could arrive at 12.10, they will also be included. If your child does not attend on a Thursday and you would like them to be involved in this, please come for 12 noon.

Tuesday 24th May - school visit to Spinning Infants. We have an opportunity to visit the reception area as a group and would like to suggest that we meet at the school at 9.30 for an hour. Children who normally attend on a Wednesday can then come back to Head Start for the rest of the session or day. I am quite happy to take children in my car if you are working so you need to let me know your requirements.

Thursday 2nd June - Visit to Ramsey Heights Wildlife Trust Country Classroom. This visit has been arranged for half-term from 9.30 - 11.30 for a Minibeast session, cost £3.50 per child. We will then have a picnic and return for 12.30. You will need to transport yourself and your child, however, we are happy to transport children if you are unable to do so. Siblings are welcome to come along but as we are limited to 30 places, priority will be given to Head Start children. You will be responsible for your own child/ren. Please complete the attached form with the fees before the Easter holidays.

Monday 13th June - Friday 17th June - Father’s Week. As last year, we are inviting Fathers to spend some time with their child at Head Start, to see what we do and how the children learn. This proved very successful and the children enjoyed having the Dads there. If you would like to join us for an hour, can you speak to a member of staff. Alternatively, if you could try and drop off or pick up your child at one of the sessions and have a chat with us, that will be really good as well.

Wednesday 22nd June - Barnardo’s Big Toddle. As in previous years we will walk the children down to Newtown Green Play Park and have a picnic together and then walk back. More details and sponsorship forms in next newsletter.

Friday 2nd July - School Trip to Long Sutton Butterfly Park. The cost will be £9 per child to cover entry fees and the hire of a coach. More details in the next newsletter.

September - As it is two years since I have raised my fees and VAT plus other commodities have increased in price, I will be raising my fees to £12 a session at the start of the Autumn Term.
