The Headteacher, Adela Costello

Adela has run the school for five years but prior to this worked in a variety of settings since resuming her career. She worked part-time for Cambridgeshire Social Services as the Co-ordinator of Span, an organisation providing voluntary support for families with under fives. Adela also worked for Community Education providing learning opportunities for adults with special needs before coming to Head Start. She has also worked as a supply teacher and was a Governor at Ramsey Junior School for five years. At present she is also a Town Councillor and within that role a Governor of Ramsey Spinning Infant School.

Since September 2007 Adela has the Early Years Professional Status,at present the highest qualification in Early Years

Head Start Nursery School in Ramsey caters for children between the ages of 2 and 5 years. It is a small, friendly school with a maximum sessional attendance for 20 children. The school is housed in the modern Rainbow building which has a large car park and incorporates a Doctor's Surgery, Chemist and Community Resource Centre. To the front of the building is a fenced garden area and porch for outdoor activities

Full and part-time places are offered along with after-school care, by arrangement.
