The school participates in the early years educational funding programme. Grants are available to your child from the term after their third birthday, e.g. if your child's birthday falls between 1st January and 31st March and he/she is three the grant will be paid from the summer term until he/she becomes five years old. The grant is payable for up to five sessions of two half hours per week for thirty eight weeks of the year. You are able to share the grant between different settings.

A grant term now matches main school terms although there can be days at the beginning and the end of a school term plus all the school holidays when it is not payable. The grant covers two and half hours of free education but a top up fee is required to cover the additional time plus extras. At present the grant rate is £8.20 per session.

Grant forms are distributed at the end of each term for the following terms. Proof of your child's date of birth needs to be provided, e.g. birth certificate, passport etc.

Please note that normal charges will apply for all periods and services such as lunch times and pre- and after school care which are not covered by the grant.

If you choose to maximise on the grant during periods when it is payable e.g. your child attends for the full five sessions, you can reduce the number of sessions attended to a minimum of two during periods when it is not in force, e.g. school holidays.
